History :

Founded in 1846 in Locle, Switzerland, the company was acquired in 1983 by businessman Rolf Schnyder who relaunched the brand in conjunction with watchmaker Dr. Ludwig Oechslin. Historically Ulysse Nardin has been known for marine chronometers, while the core of the line remains its "Marine" series. Ulysse Nardin was awarded the Technical Innovation Prize four out of five years for its complicated timepieces, including the GMT Perpetual, the Freak, the Genghis Khan and the Sonata. Ulysse Nardin's Innovision concept watch was awarded the 2007 New Technology Award by the famous watch magazine Revolution.
