History :

Since its establishment in 1735, Blancpain has been regarded by many watch collectors as among the best timepieces in the world. In 1953, Blancpain created the first modern diving watch, Fifth Fathoms. In 1983 continuing innovation lead to the launch of the world's smallest movement indicating moon phase, day, month and date, and then in 1989 the launch of the worlds thinnest chronograph. A Blancpain timepiece is simple and pared-down without superfluous details, appealing to connoisseurs who understand that the essence of a mechanical watch is movement. In 1992, Blancpain was integrated with the Swatch group.
